Ciwalk Bandung

Cihampelas Walk now better known as Ciwalk, has successfully managed to become a new favourite hangout in Bandung. Not only Bandungese, but just about anyone who happens to visit the “City of Flowers” finds it hard to resist the charms of Ciwalk.

Ciwalk is indeed different from other malls. Occupying 3.5 hectares of prime land, only one-third of the area is allocated for building while the rest is designated for pedestrians and garden. Visitors can really feel the cool breeze as well as the heat and even the rain.

The ciwalk mall building , which is located the center actually looks no different from any other mall, as it features the ususal prime dining and entertainment facilities and offers branded goods. U2, Hush Puppies, Hammer, Body Shop, Time Zone, 21 Cineplex, Talent Box, Starbucks, Café Pisa, Avenue, Platinum, Blowfish, Embargo are just some the signages you’ll find there.

One thing is different here , you can freely bring along pets and will never be bothered by cigarette smoke. At the food court, Ciwalk applies the e-card system, a kind of membership card that functions as a food and drinks voucher. In the open air area , located at the front and, one finds Union Square , which is marked by a semi-circular pedestrian spot and is used to hold all sorts of events during weekends. On Friday nights local banda take center stage as they help you make it through the night.

Union Square is flanked by two streets with unique characteristics. On the right is Young Streets, where one finds booths offering branded goods aimend at the youth market. Its left flank , called Broadway , caters to needs of people of all ages with a strong urge for branded goods and prime dining and entertainment facilities. Those with a passion for clubbing will easily find either Score ! or Embassy as the place to be.
